Not Just a Book — An Adventure You Solve

Choose Your Path.
Crack the Code.
Save Confusington.

The Dim Knight Chronicles aren't books you read — they're mysteries you live. Every chapter hands you a decision. Every puzzle is a locked door. The story only moves forward when you figure out the key.

🗺️

Your Choices. Your Adventure.

At every fork in the road, you decide what happens next. Follow the Stealth route, try your luck with Magic, or go in fists-first with the knights. Different paths lead to different chapters — and completely different endings. One book. Three adventures inside it.

🧩

Puzzles That Actually Matter

Forget random brain teasers. Every puzzle is woven into the story — a coded message from a goblin spy, a map fragment hidden in an illustration, a cipher scratched on a dungeon wall. Crack it and you unlock the next part of the adventure. The clue from Chapter 3 might be the key you need in Chapter 7.

📖

Read It. Print It. Play It.

Works in both formats. Reading online? Tap to jump straight to your chosen path. Got a printed copy? Grab a pencil and notepad — you'll need it for your Adventure Backpack, where you track the items and codes you collect. Either way, the mystery is the same. The chaos is guaranteed.

Welcome to Confusington

Where Nothing Makes Sense
— and That's PERFECT

Meet Dim Knight and his brothers — one who's always asleep, one who asks impossible questions, and one who wears his helmet backwards. Together with a farting dragon, a grumpy rainbow-farting unicorn, and five impossibly confusing witches, they're the worst heroes in the kingdom.

And somehow, the BEST heroes it's ever had.

The Dim Knight Chronicles is a 100-chapter children's comedy-fantasy series by Jacob Penfold (age 9), built from bedtime stories, camping trips, and one rule: no idea is too silly.

Perfect for readers aged 7–10 who love chaos, friendship, fart jokes, and the kind of heroes who trip over their own swords and save the day anyway.

✨ How This Story Grew

Born in a Tent,
Powered by Imagination

The Dim Knight Chronicles began where all the best stories do — in the imagination of a child, in the dark.

On a camping trip with no lights and no internet, Jacob (age 9) asked his dad for a bedtime story. In the darkness of a tent, father and son decided to create something together: "The story of a brave knight — a DIM knight — and we'll make up new characters along the way."

That first night, Gerald the Dragon was born (complete with his legendary farts). The confusing witches appeared. A kingdom of chaos took shape, built entirely from giggles and imagination.

As the story grew, Dad captured Jacob's wild ideas in bullet points: "There should be a grumpy unicorn who farts RAINBOWS!" "A baby troll who stows away!" Nothing was too silly. Everything was included.

Then came collaboration with Claude AI — helping transform quick ideas into full chapters, fleshing out dialogue, weaving storylines together. Every character came from Jacob's mind. Claude helped write it down.

"The craziest ideas kept coming, as though the story itself generated even more imaginative concepts. Each chapter inspired the next. A camping trip. A bedtime request. A father and son. And a kingdom where NOTHING makes sense — except the love of storytelling." — Paul & Jacob Penfold

Season Two:
The Silly Shadow War

🔒 Coming Soon

Chapters 51–100

"When the toilets start talking, you know trouble is coming..."

The crack in reality has sealed — but something WORSE is coming. THE SHADOW ARMY, led by the terrifying Empress Umbra, is heading for Confusington.

Can Sand Witch's cooking reform a villain? Can Gerald's farts literally light up the darkness? And WHY does the Toilet Monster cry when he eats ham and cheese?

Season Two builds to the ultimate confrontation with Nightmare Prime — an ancient void older than shadows, older than fear, older than everything. Unlike anything they've faced before. And the only weapon? Pure, concentrated chaos. And a sandwich.

Season Two teaser content from the official planning document.

Princess Chandamel
The Sensible One
Actually runs Confusington. Carries a clipboard. Deeply tired. Saves everyone at least twice per book.

Dragon · Fan Favourite
Chubby green dragon. His farts have defeated armies, powered time machines, and launched chariots into orbit.
🦄
